We are extremely pleased that the Abingdon
Touring Theatre Company has decided to support the Warborough
and Shillingford Festival in its adoption of Batticaloa and
hope that you will be able to go and see one of their performances.
The following is taken from a recent ATTC Press Release:
Theatre Company supports Sri Lankan
Tsunami village
The Abingdon Touring Theatre Company, a
new Oxfordshire-based theatre company for gap year students,
will be raising funds for disabled people in Manmunaipattu,
a village in Eastern Sri Lanka devastated by the Boxing Day
tsunami, on their February/March 2006 tour of Alan Bennett's
Talking Heads.
Working with the Warborough and Shillingford
Festival and international charity Practical Action (previously
ITDG), the company will give four charity performances during
the tour, from which all bar and programme proceeds will be
donated to the project, which is making a real difference
to the lives of some of the most disadvantaged people in one
of the poorest parts of the world.
The dates and venues for the charity
performances
will be:
Wednesday 1st &
Thursday 2nd February 2006,
St Mary the Virgin Church, Henley
Thursday 9th February
2006,
Christ Church, Northcourt Road, Abingdon
Wednesday 22nd February
2006,
St Michael and All Angels Church, Summertown
Donations will be accepted at all other
performances, details of which can be found on www.attc.org.uk
or by telephoning the box office on 01865 305305.
Tickets cost £7.50/£6.50,
with performances starting at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm)
